Jenny Evans is a PhD Candidate at University of Wolverhampton. She began the Hodson Shop Project following the completion of her MA in Popular Culture – during which she researched subcultural retail and ethical consumption in Victorian Britain.

Her research interests include: dress and fashion history, everyday clothing, retail and material culture.

She first encountered the Hodson Shop Collection in October 2011 and quickly became fascinated and intrigued by the garments and objects.

Prior to becoming a researcher, Jen worked as a video producer, freelance journalist and was the Deputy Editor of the popular feminist online magazine, BitchBuzz.com.

Her current research is being supervised by Dr Laura Ugolini.
